Chili-Citrus Seared Tuna

Ingredients

  • 1½ lbs. Ahi Tuna Steaks, Thawed
  • 2 tbsp. Thai Chili Sauce
  • 2 tbsp. Soy Sauce (or Tamari if you’re gluten free)
  • 2 tbsp. Fresh Lemon Juice (from 1 juicy lemon)
  • 2 tbsp. Extra-Virgin Olive Oil
  • 1 tbsp. Sesame Oil
  • 2 tbsp. Green Onions or Chives, Chopped (for garnish)
  • Lemon Wedges (for garnish)

How to Make:

    Step 1

  1. Whisk together the chili sauce, soy/tamari sauce, lemon juice, and olive oil in a small bowl.
  2. Step 2

  3. Place tuna steaks in a large zip-top bag. Pour in the chili sauce mixture. Marinate for at least 10 minutes or in the refrigerator for up to 2 hours.
  4. Step 3

  5. Sprinkle sesame oil in a stovetop skillet and turn to medium heat. Discard the marinade and add the marinated tuna steaks to the skillet. Cook for 3–4 minutes, until a slight crust forms on the bottom. Flip over and cook for 3–4 minutes on the other side.
  6. Step 4

  7. Divide the tuna among four plates. Add garnishes and serve alongside your favorite sides.
